Hint 1

Keep the matching pairs together and note the turnover point marked in the diagram.

Hint 2

Build a central cross, add the outer arms symmetrically, then turn the assembly over.

Hint 3

The final two pieces slide into opposite openings and complete the diamond.

Lay out the 12 labelled pieces and form the small central cross shown in the first stages.
Add matching arms from opposite directions so the structure remains balanced.
Fit the middle pair through the open channels and gently square the core.
Turn the assembly over at the marked turnover stage.
Add the final outer pair from opposite sides and slide them inward until the diamond is symmetrical.
