Crafty Puzzles is responsible for the personal information handled through this website. You can contact us at info@craftypuzzles.com.
What information may be handled?
The website does not require an account. If you email us, submit a correction or send photographs or instructions, we receive the information you choose to include in that message and any attachments. Our hosting provider may also create standard security and server logs, such as request time, requested page, browser information and IP address, to operate and protect the website.
Google Analytics and Consent Mode
Crafty Puzzles uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-D99FJLWSRY) with Google Consent Mode v2. The Google tag loads on each page, but before you make a choice it is configured with analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization set to denied. This means Crafty Puzzles does not permit Google Analytics cookies or advertising storage before you accept analytics.
While storage remains denied, the Google tag may send limited, cookieless consent-mode signals to Google so that Google can understand the consent state and produce modelled measurement. If you select Accept analytics, only analytics_storage is changed to granted; advertising-related storage and personalisation remain denied. If you reject analytics, analytics storage stays denied.
After acceptance, Analytics may collect information such as page views, referring pages, device/browser information and approximate location derived by Google. Google Signals and advertising-personalisation signals are disabled in the site configuration. Analytics is used to understand which puzzle pages and guides are useful and where the website can be improved.

Google may change the exact cookies it uses. Crafty Puzzles only grants analytics storage after you choose to accept analytics; advertising-related consent signals remain denied.
Change your cookie choice
You can change your choice at any time. Selecting Reject analytics changes analytics_storage back to denied and attempts to remove Google Analytics cookies for this site from your browser. The Google tag remains loaded in Consent Mode with storage denied.

- Messages and contributions: to respond to your request and, where you have given permission, review material for the archive.
- Security and server logs: to operate, troubleshoot and protect the website.
Who may receive information?
Information may be processed by services needed to operate the site, such as our web-hosting and email providers. Google receives limited Consent Mode signals while analytics storage is denied and processes Analytics data on our behalf when analytics storage is granted. External retailers and other websites have their own privacy practices; following an external or affiliate link takes you to that provider's website.
Retention
Email correspondence and contributed material are kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which they were sent, including maintaining an agreed archive contribution. Standard server-log retention is controlled by the hosting service. Google Analytics data retention is controlled in the site's GA4 account settings; the browser cookies shown above have their own expiry periods.
Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to ask for access to personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Children and personal information
Crafty Puzzles is a general puzzle-information website and does not require visitors to create profiles or provide personal details. Please avoid sending personal information that is not needed for a puzzle question or contribution.
Changes to this notice
If the website starts using a new analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking service, this notice and the consent choices will be updated before that service is enabled.
