The history preserved inside this website

The Crafty Puzzles Story

How Crafty Puzzles grew from a small family business selling at shows into an online shop and, later, a free puzzle-solution archive.

The website has changed purpose, but its product photographs and solutions still help owners of discontinued puzzles.

Crafty Puzzles began trading in 2004 as a small family business specialising in unusual brain teasers and construction puzzles. The original website described sales directly to the public through the online shop, agricultural shows and gift fairs.

Building a specialist range

The product catalogue grew to include interlocking wooden puzzles, metal disentanglement puzzles, wooden 3D jigsaws and detailed construction models. Many products were sold under memorable retail names even when similar mechanisms appeared elsewhere under different names.

Why the solution pages mattered

A puzzle may be assembled when purchased and become much harder after its packaging or instructions are lost. The old site’s solution section became a valuable after-sales resource. Customer comments preserved in the original pages specifically thanked the business for helping rebuild puzzles that had remained dismantled for years.

From shop to archive

Online sales eventually ended, but deleting the site would also have removed useful photographs, product details and instruction diagrams. The rebuilt website now contains 47 archived product records and 98 puzzle solution or reference pages. Prices, checkout tools and obsolete scripts have been removed.

Expanding beyond the original catalogue

The archive now adds verified manufacturer videos, official instruction links, original written summaries, puzzle-box research and historical articles. New material is labelled with its source and verification status so that visitors can distinguish preserved original instructions from later research.

The next chapter

Crafty Puzzles is no longer a retailer. It is a free identification, history and solution resource. Contributions from people who still own original puzzles or instructions can help recover missing information for future visitors.
