Hint 1

Sort the six pieces by notch pattern and keep the plain locking bar separate.

Hint 2

Build a loose central cage from the five notched pieces before inserting the final bar.

Hint 3

If the last bar will not slide through, one of the two central pieces is reversed.

Written assembly guide

  1. Place component 2 into the open side of component 1 as shown in stage 1.
  2. Add component 3 across the first pair to form a loose three-way centre.
  3. Slide the next notched component down through the centre to create the shape shown at stage 4.
  4. Insert component 4 from the side, then square up the five-piece cage.
  5. Slide component 5 through the upper opening while the assembly is still loose.
  6. Push the plain component 6 through the final channel. Centre all six pieces to lock the cross.
